Solutions for the Paper industry

Even though paper factories often aren't alike, there still are a number of problem areas to be considered. Examples of these areas are IR-dryers, mills and filters. These parts of your production are vulnerable to possible fire and dust explosions.

An IR-dryer is the most dangerous and common source for a fire in the paper industry. A fire in the IR-drying area can result in long and costly downtime. Firefly has developed the IR-Guard solution for optimal protection of one of your most valued link in the production chain.

Solutions	Where	Purpose	How
Mill protection	Mill inlet and outlet.	To detect and extinguish sparks and hot particles caused by foreign objects inside the mill, or due to mill overload.	Using fast IR sensors that can detect sparks and hot particles. Extinguish with water spray at the mill inlet and outlet not only to protect the mill itself but also the process flow after the mill.
Filter protection	In the extraction ducts.	To detect and extinguish sparks and hot particles in the extraction system.	Using fast IR sensors to detect sparks and hot particles before they reach the filter and extinguish with water, or isolation with CO2.
