Solutions for the Tobacco industry

Tobacco burns very slowly. This is a fact well-known by the tobacco industry. However, a burning pocket of tobacco can become a costly problem at the primary tobacco production facility or the cigarette factory. With this in mind, Firefly supplies tailor-made systems for the tobacco industry. Our systems detect and extinguish or isolate the hot particles from the process.

Dryer	To detect burning tobacco that give rise to an exothermic reaction, i.e. producing its own heat and glows which could act as an ignition source.	Using fast IR sensor detection in combination with extinguishing using mechanical diversion.
Cutter	To detect ignition sources caused by the mill and shredder due to over-feeding. Contaminates can cause mechanical problems creating dangerous sparks.	Using fast IR sensor detection in combination with water mist and water spray extinguishing.
Cigarette making machine	To detect ignition sources caused by mechanical problems within the cigarette making machine.	Using fast IR sensor detection in combination with water mist and water spray extinguishing.
